Lumen calls the ShipEngine REST API using the API key you paste at install. Read scope only by default — label purchase requires explicit admin opt-in.

What Lumen can write

Lumen does not buy labels or void shipments by default. These can be admin-enabled per workspace if you want the agent to act.

    Every call is logged with user, operation, shipment / tracking number, and date range. Exportable as CSV.

    1. Generate a key

      Create a ShipEngine API key

      In ShipEngine → API Management, generate a key for read access. Copy the value — you'll only see it once.

    2. Connect

      Paste the key into Lumen

      In Settings → Integrations → ShipEngine, paste the key. It's stored encrypted at rest.

      Try a warm-up question

      Start with "Open shipments that haven't reported delivery in 7+ days" — the agent will pull recent shipments and check their tracking events.
