Scope

What Lumen sees. What it can change.

Read is on by default. Every write is a separate toggle, capped per user, and logged.

Read

What Lumen reads

Lumen calls the Mailchimp Marketing API with the OAuth token you grant at install. Read scope only by default.

  • Audiences

List, members, growth, segments, merge fields, unsubscribes

  • Campaigns

Definition, send time, audience targeted, full report (open/click/bounce/click-by-link)

  • Automations

Customer journeys, classic automations, per-step performance

  • Segments

Definition, current member count, sample members

  • Reports

Aggregate stats, click maps, ecommerce revenue when the store is connected

Write · opt-in

What Lumen can write

Lumen does not write to Mailchimp by default. List adds and campaign sends can be admin-enabled per audience if you need them.

Every call is logged with user, operation, audience or campaign ID, and date range. Exportable as CSV.

    Install

    Connect in under a minute.

No keys, no call, no app marketplace fine print.

    1. Authorize
      01

      Connect with OAuth

In Settings → Integrations → Mailchimp, click Connect. Sign in and approve the scopes Lumen requests. The token is stored encrypted.

    2. Pick a data center
      02

      Confirm the data center

Mailchimp tokens carry a data-center prefix (us1, us20, …). Lumen reads it from the token automatically — no manual entry.

    3. Ask
      03

      Try a warm-up question

Start with "Open and click rates on the last 5 sends" — the agent will pull the campaigns, fetch each report, and show you the numbers side by side.

Connect Mailchimp. Reconcile the email funnel.

OAuth. Read-only by default. Audience writes opt-in.
